Hilda Louise Hancock
Hilda was born Feb 26 1902 and put into the Barnardo Homes at the age of five. Hilda arrived in Canada on November 23, 1913 aboard the Corinthian. She was taken to the Hazelbrae Barnardo Home in Peterborough before being placed out with various farm families. She was worked very hard and emotionally abused. Hilda was extremely resilient and went on to marry Frank Clark. Hilda and Frank had four children, all daughters. She helped to run the family farm with her husband in Port Perry and then a boarding house in Toronto. Hilda lived to be 98 and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother.
